I’ve just been part of something a little different, and I wanted to tell you about it.
We’ve created a short video—just 30 seconds—but it carries a message that really matters to me.
It starts in a way that might make you pause. There’s the sound of a crash, and you see me lying in the road. Don’t worry—I’m okay. It’s a still moment, used to make you think. Because what comes next is the point:
The truth is… you don’t always walk away.
That line is everything.
I get up, I walk away, and the message becomes clear—this time, I was lucky. But not everyone is.
That’s why the message is simple:
Wear a helmet. Always.
We also made a second version of the video, using something a bit unexpected—eggs. It might sound strange, but it works. It shows just how fragile things can be, without needing to say a word.
There is also a third video, which is aimed at those on bigger machines, like motorbikes, but really must set a good example.
The videos are part of a bigger campaign about staying safe, especially if you’re riding a bike or an e-scooter.
And to go with it, for a limited time, you can download my books Riley’s Road and Riley’s Road Manual for free on Kindle. They’re normally €5 each, but for three days, they’ll be completely free so more people can access them.
They’re not just about helmets—they’re about understanding the road, making better decisions, and looking out for yourself and others.
If even one person watches the video and decides to wear a helmet because of it, then it’s done its job.
Stay safe,
Riley
