Sometimes, words are meant to be heard

Hey everyone!

I’ve been adding something new to my website, and I’m really excited to share it with you.

Welcome to Riley Reads.

You might have already discovered my music, but sometimes there are words that deserve a little space of their own. Away from the beat, the bass, the harmonies and everything else that goes into a song, there’s something quite special about simply hearing the words as they were written.

That’s the idea behind Riley Reads.

It’s a place where I can read some of my lyrics without the music, almost like poetry, and explore other ways of sharing words and stories. Some readings might be completely raw, with nothing but my voice. Others might have a little piano, a soft atmospheric backing or just enough sound to create a mood without taking anything away from the words themselves.

And who knows where it might lead? I’d love to explore poetry, short stories and, eventually, longer readings and audiobooks, too.

For me, it’s about slowing things down a little. Taking a breath. Listening rather than scrolling past. And perhaps discovering something in a few simple words that you hadn’t noticed before.

Sometimes, the quietest moments stay with us the longest.

More than just music

While I was putting Riley Reads together, I realised it was also the perfect opportunity to bring the rest of my voiced audio work together in one place.

So, whether you’re here for the songs, the conversations or something a little different, there’s now a space for you.

For those times when you want to settle in and stay a while. My albums bring songs together into a bigger musical journey, with different sounds, emotions and atmospheres to explore.

Music is only one way to have a conversation. Here you’ll find my main podcast episodes, including Riley’s Road from N332, alongside guest appearances and other podcast features. Different topics, different perspectives and plenty of things to think about.

And now, a place for the spoken word. Lyrics, poetry, stories and reflections, sometimes with music, sometimes without. Just words, a voice and whatever they happen to make you feel.

Maybe you’ll put on an album while you’re relaxing. Perhaps you’ll catch up with a podcast. Or maybe you’ll find yourself listening to a poem or a few lines from a song in a completely different way.

There’s no particular order, and no right or wrong way to listen.

I’m looking forward to adding more to Riley Reads as the idea develops, and I hope you’ll enjoy discovering this new side of what I do.
