When Mark at my producers, Mad Black Cat, first told me about the Expat Lifestlye theme song I was to sing, I didn´t imagine it would be so much fun to do, especially when it came to making the video.
One of the things I loved most about making the Expat Lifestyle video was that it wasn’t really about sightseeing.
Of course, there are some beautiful locations in it. There are beaches, cafés, markets, sunshine, food, and all the things people often associate with life abroad. But when I watch it back, those aren’t the moments that stand out to me the most.
What I notice are the people.
I see conversations. I see friendships. I see smiles. I see little everyday moments that most of us probably take for granted until we stop and think about them.
There’s a scene where I’m chatting with a market stallholder and laughing while looking at fruit. It isn’t a big moment. Nothing dramatic happens. But somehow it became one of my favourite parts of the video.
Maybe that’s because it captures what living somewhere really means.

When people think about moving to another country, they often imagine the sunshine, the scenery, or the lifestyle. Those things are wonderful, but they’re only part of the story. The real magic happens when a place starts to feel familiar. When you recognise faces. When you discover your favourite café. When you learn little things about the local culture and community.
That’s when a destination starts to feel like home.
Making this video reminded me that life is often made up of simple moments. Sharing a meal. Meeting friends. Exploring somewhere new. Spending time outdoors. Having a conversation that makes you smile.
Those moments don’t usually make headlines, but they’re often the moments we remember.
The Expat Lifestyle theme is really a celebration of that idea.
It’s about enjoying life, staying curious, meeting people, trying new things, and making the most of wherever your journey takes you.
Most of all, it’s about living rather than simply visiting.
I hope the video makes you smile as much as it made me smile while creating it.
